The classic Two Man Split is a street scene with the two men on opposite sides of the road. However, no apologies for including this fascinating variation to illustrate the subdivision. This postcard from Liverpool Museum is labelled `Rushworth & Draper Store, 1930`. Note especially the open drawer jam-packed with violins! I have also included the following postcard as yet another variation on the theme. At first glance this was taken to be an example of the Classic Transformationalist Postcard, with the two men, in hats, on the right. However, they are obviously unconnected and the figure in the foreground is looking across the street at the strange beast. A Two Man Split achieved with the participation of only one man. |
